A Bold New Chapter of Innovation and Creative Excellence Begins in the heart of Rodney Bay!

Gros Islet, June 14th, 2025 – Coco Palm is excited to announce the appointment of Simone Skinner as its new Managing Director, effective May 1st. With 30 years of experience in guest-centric operations, brand strategy, and tourism innovation across the Caribbean, Simone is set to lead Coco Palm into a new era of growth and revitalization.
Ms. Skinner’s career spans leadership roles at Sandals Golf and Country Club, Island Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours, and the United States Peace Corps, showcasing her versatility in hospitality, adventure tourism, and public service. However, the newly appointed MD’s true gift lies in transformational team building. She has a rare ability to ignite the spark that brings people together by fostering trust, alignment, and a shared sense of purpose.
Upon her return to Coco Palm, Simone organized a month-long team-building initiative using golf—a sport unfamiliar to most—as a neutral, playful medium to break down barriers, encourage vulnerability across departments, and spark honest, cross-functional conversations. The initiative reignited staff connection, accountability, and love for the property.
“When we opened Coco Palm, Simone worked with us as the head of the Events and Conference Department. The hotel later shelved some of its expansion plans, and Simone pursued new opportunities, gaining a wealth of experience in hospitality,” said Allen Chastanet, founder of Coco Palm. “Her return signals a new chapter in our company. Her unique eye for guest experiences and team-building expertise brings a revitalizing perspective to our operations. We are excited to welcome her back with her vision and experience – qualities I believe will be invaluable on our mission to become one of the best boutique hotels in Saint Lucia.”
Simone Skinner has already taken a strong interest in Coco Palm’s ground operations, renovations, and event coordination, with plans to elevate the hotel to new heights of excellence—starting from the heart and soul of the resort.
