Paul W2025-04-05 Overall a favourable stay. Overall the stay was good. The staff were very pleasant, polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. We were disturbed at night by barking dogs at a nearby property and the cooked buffet breakfast was often cold. However overall we enjoyed our stay. Linda D2025-03-30 Over all good experience Hotel clean and neat . Hospitality good inclusive food meal was the same every day. Not what I expected from all inclusive. disappointed with that. Would like to have seen more choices as well as grab and go meals. All meals were sit down full service meals. Wanderer_fromPoole2025-03-29 Lovely relaxing stay Me: Solo female traveller from England, stayed at Coco Palm Hotel in March 2025 in a “standard view” poolside room on Bed & Breakfast. Quick summary: Loved Coco Palm hotel and St. Lucia! Everyone was so friendly, both staff and other guests. There is always someone to chat to (if you want). Coco Palm Hotel: Is located in a quiet area at the southern end of Rodney Bay, a 5 min walk from the beach. Hotel has a restaurant, bar (with an extensive cocktail list - recommend the Mango Sensation!! Happy hour buy-one-get-one-free is 4-6pm), pool, gym and parking for about 40 cars. Lots of lush greenery and palm trees etc. around the hotel site but the big garden area is currently closed to guests. There is no hotel provided evening entertainment. All hotel staff were friendly. Hotel room: the rooms are split across two buildings – the main big/white building set away from the road (which you see in the brochures/websites etc.) and a smaller yellow building at the back of the hotel site on the road, which contains the Kreole rooms. If you can afford it, recommend paying the extra to stay in the main building. My room was big and spacious with two comfortable queen-size beds, flatscreen TV, wardrobe, desk, two chairs, lots of drawers, two large mirrors, small balcony, bathroom with walk-in rainfall shower and clothes line, small fridge, kettle, and blackout curtains. Power points were a mix of the UK, USA and USB style, so didn’t need any travel adaptors. There is an aircon unit in the room but it isn’t very powerful, so only takes the edge off the heat - it doesn’t make the room cool/cold. The sun is only on the poolside rooms for an hour at 7am, before going behind the building, which helped keep the room cooler. There are lights by the bed but their light switch is by the door, so you have to get out of bed to turn them off then walk back to bed in the dark! I moved the table lamp from the desk to the bedside table instead. Safety – felt safe in the hotel grounds, solid bedroom door with dual-locks, CCTV everywhere and security guards walk around the site. Pool: The pool is 4ft deep and cleaned every morning. It is in two parts, divided by a mini bridge, with the busier/nosier part by the restaurant/bar. Sunbeds go fast, so you usually need to put your towel on one before 8am. Unfortunately, some people reserve a sunbed with their towel all day but then only use it for a couple of hours. Pool towels are available from reception, used towels go in the basket by the lifts. The hotel provides pool volleyball/basketball balls and nets, and on the poolside grass there is a pool table and some other games. Breakfast: Served 7-10am. Wait at the restaurant podium to be seated. At popular times there is a quick queue. Water and hot drinks are brought to the table, everything else is self-service. Food was a mix of cooked breakfast, toast, sweet pastries/cake, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, fish, salad etc. Breakfast was the same every day with some slight variation (e.g. some days there were pancakes and the pastries changed). WIFI – the hotel provides free guest WIFI (no password required), which is fast enough to stream videos. St. Lucia: Try to enjoy St. Lucia’s traditional Caribbean relaxed slow pace of life, (instead of getting frustrated by it, like some of the reviews on here). The locals are very friendly and speak English. Beach/street sellers will approach you to chat, but a polite no is all you need if not interested (before my visit, read reviews on here saying sellers were aggressive, which was worrying, but saw none of that). The local Rodney Bay ladies are all very beautiful and glamourous . Weather: Average 27 degrees all day, all night, all year. Rodney Bay has a nice cooling breeze from the sea. In March, there was usually a quick 5 min rain shower most days (hence St. Lucia is so lush/green), otherwise it was sunny all the time with occasional cloud. Sunrise approx. 6am and sets approx. 6pm. Local Area: Rodney Bay is St. Lucia’s tourist area. Within a 5 min walk of the hotel there are two small shopping centres, two supermarkets, bars and restaurants (local options and familiar ones like Dominos, KFC, Subway, curry house etc.). The marina is a 15 min walk along the main road (the “Castries – Gros Islet Highway”, along which is a third supermarket). There is a pavement to the marina but, after the marina, it starts to disappear so you walk on the side of the road. Past the marina is Gros Islet town, which is definitely worth a visit to see a more cultural view of St. Lucia. Pigeon Island nature park is about an hour’s walk (or catch the water taxi from the beach). The walk up Mt. Pimard in about an hour - the trail is quite steep in places, so you need to “climb” using the provided ropes, so wear good walking shoes (not flipflops!). Behind the hotel there are buildings for massages and to hire Segways. Other than that, there isn’t much more to do within walking distance, so recommend booking trips, jump on a bus or hire a car. Supermarkets: All supermarkets are Massy brand. They were open every day until 10pm (6pm Sundays). Locally sourced items are reasonably priced but imported items are very expensive (e.g. £6 for a tin of Ambrosia custard). Shopping Centres: Are open Mon – Sat. The JQ Rodney Bay Mall (shopjqmall.com) contains local shops. The Baywalk Mall (www.baywalkslu.com) contains local shops and some you’ll recognise (e.g. Sketchers). There is nowhere to buy books on the island, so bring what you need or load up your Kindle. The beach: Reduit beach is a public beach (despite the Sandals hotel’s claim otherwise for "their" section of beach ). The start of the beach is a 5 min walk from Coco Palm hotel down a backroad. This is the quietest end of the beach. The beach length is split in two by the marina entrance halfway along, so you cannot walk along it from Mt. Pimard to Pigeon Island. Apparently, there should be a boat to take you across the marina entrance (for a fee), but didn’t see any each time I tried. There are hundreds of sunbeds/umbrellas available to hire all along the beach, some with WIFI. Several beachfront hotels are closed down/derelict, so the beach in front of these is quieter - watch out for the sand crabs! There was sometimes a DJ playing music from a boat. The sand between Mt. Pimard and the marina is gorgeous soft golden sand. The sand between the marina and Pigeon Island was often courser and stony in places. Between the main marina and Pigeon Island, there is another small hotel marina entrance, but the hotel offers a free ferry service (between 6am and 6pm) across the water, which only takes 30 seconds. However, the guys operating the boat were reluctant at times, and direct you to walk across the hotel’s bridge instead. Several tour boat tours also leave from the same ferry dock, so check which boat you're getting on! Recommend watching the sunset from the beach. Beach activities: near the Mt. Pimard end of the beach there is usually a blue gazebo against the yellow wall offering massages. Near the marina end, you can book water activities (jet skis, sail boats etc.), along with some bars (Spinnakers was popular) and stalls. There are no public toilets on the beach and only a few public entrances to the beach (most entrances are through the hotels). Activities: Coco Palm Hotel has its own activities list (https://coco-resorts.com/other-activities), bookable at reception, or there are many third-party websites to book through. Pigeon Island: is a nice nature park. Entry is EC $27/US $10 per adult. If you walk around everything, it takes about 1.5 hours. There are a couple of steep climbs (one ending in a 10-step ladder to the top), but you don’t have to do them. Wear good footwear (not flipflops!). They have toilets onsite. Local wildlife: There are a couple of dangerous snakes but didn’t see any. Geckos play along the quieter area of the hotel pool if you’re quiet. Some beautiful birds. After sunset the mosquitos really come out, so close your room windows/doors before then. Local travel: Buses are not Government operated; they are minibuses with M at the start of their green numberplate. Fares are cheap (the highest I saw was EC $6) but buses don't always stick to advertised timings. It’s also rarely obvious where the bus stop is! Private taxis have TX at the start of their blue numberplate. Private cars have black numberplates, usually starting with P. Roads and driving – the roads around the island are very bendy (lots of hairpin turns), often steep and without lighting. It’s the St. Lucia rollercoaster! I haven’t been car sick since I was a kid but felt a bit ill after the 1.5 hour drive to the hotel. The locals sometimes drive a bit dangerously (think bumper to bumper at 50mph and overtaking into oncoming traffic) but other times are very courteous (letting each other out etc.). The main roads are decent but the back roads are in various states (some requiring a 4x4 or similar). You need to be a confident driver, especially on the back roads and after dark. Airport to hotel transfers: Coco Palm hotel offers its own shuttle service to/from the airport. Or you can book a taxi or helicopter. Mobile phone: Before travelling, Tesco mobile (my phone provider) wouldn't confirm if my phone would work in St. Lucia. However, on arrival, received a text from them confirming the charges for calls (£1.50/min), texts (40p to send, free to receive) and data (£5/MB) and my phone worked fine. There are two mobile phone shops in the Baywalk Mall if you want to buy a local Digicell SIM card. Before you travel: Complete the St Lucia immigration form online three days before arrival and print the receipt to save yourself (and the airport passport control) a lot of time/hassle completing paper forms. ducati749r2025-03-22 Central to area Coco Palm hotel is quite a nice hotel close to the small town of Rodney Bay and Reduit Beach. The pool area is medium size with plenty of sun beds and makes for a relaxing afternoon. However it can be a little noisy as the bar which never shuts has a pumping base that never stops. With the music being probably local and not quite fully audible it tends to get a bit much. Breakfast was always great with Caribbean and European food served. I always try to do my research before going anywhere new so to find that hardly any of Rodney Bay has been mapped on Google was annoying as I couldn't preplan routes to restaurants and beaches etc. Luckily the hotel has a back entrance which makes walking to town very easy. The beach was a little more trial and error as the signage only went as far as the hotel grounds so once on the street bearings could be lost. On the second day we found the cut through which was like walking in a mountain pass and discovered it was signed but with paint daubed on a wall which I wasn't expecting. All in all not too bad. twilliams152025-03-17 Amazing boutique hotel I am more than happy that I picked this boutique hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was spacious. Restaurants and supermarket were about 4 min walk. Reduit beach was about a 6 min walk away. This hotel was about a 2 hr ride away from the airport. The pool is big and the free buffet breakfast was yummy. I ate dinner one night at the hotel restaurant and it was good and satisfying. The grounds are clean. They have a few games on property such as a pool Table, corn hole and a fuse ball table. A relaxing time was had. Sylvia2025-03-10 Lovely place with palm trees Fantastic hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, especially our room cleaner Claudine. The pool was decent and full of palm trees, you get beach and pool towels. A minutes walk to the beach and main restaurant stretch. The rooms were spotless, we had a view over the pool. There is a nice gym to use. The rooms could do with somewhere to hang wet swim wear or towels, and maybe a table and chairs by the window. There can be noisy music on certain evenings, especially Saturday. The only aspect that could improve would be varying the breakfast menu, for 7 days we had the same food everyday which got a tad boring. BoysMumUK2025-03-09 Fantastic stay We spent a fantastic 10 days at Coco Palm in a luxe swim-up room which we loved. The room and hotel were kept spotlessly clean and the staff were all efficient, friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great with lots of choice (although we never went down any later than 8am). The pool was large and also kept very clean. The beach is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel and was absolutely beautiful. It is accessed via a short track which is fine to walk down. There is some building work going on at the end of the beach and a couple of hotels on the sea front have closed down but this did not detract from our enjoyment of the beach at all. We ate at numerous different restaurants in the evenings which we always walked to and found them to be of excellent quality and reasonably priced. The shops and a supermarket are all also in easy walking distance. We had a wonderful holiday in St Lucia and were glad that we chose Rodney Bay and especially Coco Palm. Jason P2025-03-08 Best 10 days We have just had the best 10 days at the Coco Palm, great hotel, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, we were all inclusive and the food was very good and a great bar. Vincent and his staff were absolutely brilliant, we were looked after so well that when we left we had tears in our eyes, thankyou all for a fantastic holiday Ruth W2025-03-07 Ideal location The first night was slightly underwhelmed by the service. However the resort is overall great. We had a swim up room so enjoyed privacy and convenience. Pool’s ace, restaurant’s ok, breakfast good. Room was wonderful. Staff very accomodating. Location is ideal for restaurants, shops and beach. Rachel H2024-11-04 Most relaxing stay Coco Palm is the best hotel that we have stayed in, better than well known 5* resorts. The staff are absolutely lovely. Really friendly and made our stay very relaxing. We had a garden view suit which was very spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious, as well as the drinks. 5 minute walk to Reduit Beach, probably the best on the island. The back of the hotel goes straight out in to the main shopping road of Rodney Bay. Would definitely recommend, and stay again.
